Clos du Marquis

In the heart of the Test River Valley, in keeping with the Country Inn atmosphere, Clos du Marquis offers the quaint elegance of a "French Auberge" with small beamed dining rooms and a lounge with log fires in winter . The private dining room is situated in the oldest part of the building , the original stable.  The garden, where the herbs grow, offers a gazebo for summer dining.  All this is conducive for a relaxed and memorable time, with  professional but unobtrusive service, where Madame Marquis and staff will welcome you.
As your guests, we would like to make you feel like you are in a little corner of France without to hop across the Channel. Our dishes emphasie the specialities from the South West of France for which we have a great affinity. To complement our food, we have a wine list which reflects the diversity of the Gascon wines and surrounding area.We wish you a pleasant time with us.

Cassoulet

Little Cassoulet, our rough-haired Jack Russell was brought to us by a client from the border county. Good natured, she is full of beans like our Cassoulet.................She forms a large part of our establishment and she  makes sure your four legged friends are well received at lunch time. A game in our enclosed garden is always welcome with her. Cassoulet loves greeting our guests at the end of the service, just for a small pat, definitly not for food! Probably the best gourmet terrier in the UK, certainly second after an other well-known Jack Russell from Cornwall.............
